Radon is the Second Leading Cause of Lung Cancer Deaths in the USA.
Exposure to Radon in the home is responsible for an estimated 21,000 lung cancer deaths each year. The Surgeon General has warned that Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States today. Only smoking causes more lung cancer deaths. In addition to this, if the home has a private well, then the EPA states that radon in drinking water causes about 168 cancer deaths per year: 89% from lung cancer caused by breathing radon released to the indoor air from water and 11% from stomach cancer caused by consuming water containing radon."

Testing is the only way to determine if you and your family are at risk from Radon. The E.P.A. and the Surgeon General recommend testing all homes below the third floor for Radon.
Radon is a Radioactive Gas.
Radon is a radioactive gas, which you cannot see, smell, or taste. It comes from the natural decay of Uranium that is found in nearly all soils. It typically moves up through the ground to the air above and into your home through cracks and other holes in your foundation. Your home traps Radon inside, where it can build up. Nearly 1 out of every 15 homes in the U. S. is estimated to have elevated Radon levels.
